A message from our founder.

I earned my doctorate from the University of Virginia in Instructional Technology with minors in Educational Psychology, Research, and Evaluation. During my studies, I developed a passion for bridging the gap between research and application for optimally efficient and effective solutions. I became fascinated with creativity and innovation and the conditions that foster freedom to create. I began IDSI in 1995 applying these principles along with lessons learned from my years as a government contractor. I focused on establishing a company culture and philosophy built around principles of excellence and innovation, highly qualified and experienced personnel steeped in their disciplines, and the highest standards of work. The consequent qualities manifest our corporate maxim of “performance by design”: the purposeful, expert application of science, engineering, and technology to improve the way organizations achieve their mission and how individuals perform. IDSI’s earliest clients were the Department of Energy and Department of the Navy, whose trust and support we earned by providing hands-on, precisely targeted solutions. Initially, our work was largely researching, analyzing, evaluating, and designing organizational and employee performance solutions by applying proven research principles and evidence-based designs. At that time, our customers began exploring the benefits of computers and software in training and education which led us into supporting them using technology infusion and integration strategies. IDSI rapidly expanded its customer base and added the capability to provide a full suite of performance interventions including training, simulation, software engineering and development, data solutions, and much more. I was delighted to see the transformations we pioneered become a significant contribution to the community, heightening awareness of the possibilities when evidence-based principles, talented writing, software engineering, and multimedia development are wedded and carefully applied. I am honored to work with such accomplished talent that has led IDSI to be recognized as a groundbreaking and inventive company providing the best industry has to offer. I’m excited about the future possibilities as our passionate professionals continue to stay abreast of research, technology advancements, and customer performance needs. I know we have only just begun to see all the possibilities our employees can achieve.
